Rubber gasketing is one of the most common sealing solutions in industrial applications, but it’s also one of the most misapplied. Different rubber materials perform very differently depending on temperature, pressure, and chemical exposure, and choosing the right one for the job is not always clear cut.
Ameraseal supplies and cuts a wide range of rubber gasketing materials, including Neoprene, EPDM, Buna-N, Viton®, and more.
Each material is suited for specific environments, whether that’s water service, oils and fuels, outdoor exposure, or elevated temperatures. Our team helps ensure the rubber you select is appropriate for your application and then cuts it accurately to your flange, drawing, or sample.

Elastomer:
Neoprene - Versatile and economical general purpose rubber. Good in a wide variety of applications.
EPDM - Industrial rubber with good chem-resistance and excellent UV and physical resistance. Best long term outdoor solution.
Buna-N (Nitrile)- Premium rubber used for gaskets and seals in contact with oils, fuels or grease.
FKM Viton® - Top-tier rubber used in the most demanding applications. Excellent physical, mechanical and thermal properties. Used for sealing oils, fuels, lubricants, and mineral acids, it can withstand chemicals and temperatures that act as solvents or would degrade other types of rubber.
White Nitrile - A variation of Nitrile with a food/medical-grade formulation. Used in food processing, pharmaceuticals and other industries that need non marking, hygienic rubber. FDA approved.
Red Rubber - Also known as SBR, Red rubber is an economical option primarily used in hot/cold water applications. Great low-temp flexibility.
Gum Rubber - A natural elastomer derived from rubber trees. Very soft durometer while being one of the most durable and tear resistance.
Hypalon® - A synthetic rubber noted for its resistance to chemicals, temperature extremes, and UV. ideal for hazardous environments involving chemical, acid, oil, flame, electricity, or weathering.
Panacea® 6962 - Panacea® 6962 is a special compound elastomer of EPDM with a high content of polymer and a peroxide cure. Ideal for resistance in Chlorine, Caustic, Brine, and Bleach Industries
White Viton® - Viton® with an FDA certification. Used in the most extreme environments that pertain to food and medicine, or need FDA compliance.
